FAQs
We’ve compiled some of the most frequently asked questions to provide guidance on using the app and troubleshooting common issues. If you can’t find the answer to your question here, please don’t hesitate to contact us using the form below.
Why do I need to give permission to access my location all the time?
This is necessary to track your driving hours and behavior even when your phone screen is off, ensuring safety as you need to put your phone down. Additionally, it helps conserve battery usage.
When does the driving counter start?
The counter starts after you have reached approximately 16 mph.
How do I earn badges?
You’ll need to review the guide with your teen before you start driving, which only takes a couple of minutes.
How do I earn points?
Once you have read the guide and completed the required amount of driving hours for your level (usually 1 hour), you can earn points. You don’t need to complete the 1-hour driving at once, but every time you start a new level, you’ll need to review the guide. You can also earn points by referring the app to your friends and setting weekly practice goals.
Driving behavior stats:
Driving behavior is measured using the sensors of the phone. Each sensor has different levels of sensitivity, so you might get varying results if using more than one phone while driving. This is normal, but keep in mind that driving behavior stats might not be 100% accurate due to factors like the position and location of the phone, and phone manipulation.
We measure:
– Hard Acceleration
– Hard Braking
– Max Speed
– Average Speed
– Weather Conditions
Dos and Don’ts:
– Do review the guide with your teen every time you move on to the next level to earn badges and points.
– Don’t use or manipulate the phone while driving.
– Don’t place your phone in your purse; try to keep it in a flat or vertical position, such as your pocket.
How do I use the guide?
Review the guide with your teen before starting driving; this will take just a couple of minutes. Follow the guide’s suggested practice, but only if you and your teen feel confident. Remember, you can always revisit scenarios you didn’t feel confident about initially. Click the ‘start driving’ button and put the phone down. If you forget to stop the drive, it will automatically stop after 5 minutes of inactivity. Once you complete the required time, usually 1 hour of driving, you can move to the next level.
How long does it take to move to the next level?
It depends on your current level, but generally, it will take 1 hour of driving practice. You don’t need to drive for 1 continuous hour; the app will record the time completed, allowing you to continue driving until you’ve practiced enough to level up.
Do I need an internet connection to track my driving hours?
Yes, you need to be connected to the network. If you lose connection momentarily, the app should continue working. However, if you’re leaving your house and are between Wi-Fi and network connections when you start driving, you might encounter an error. In that case, try starting the app once you’re fully connected to the network.
Adding users to my account:
You can add up to 2 users to your account. If you’re adding parents, they will need to sign up as parents. For purchasing or canceling subscriptions, you’ll need to log in with the main account number as a driver.
